Some recipes require cooking on the stove so we suggest you get an adult to help you with the preparations.

ROASTY TOASTY PUMPKIN SEEDS

Remove the gooey fibers from the seeds of a large pumpkin.
Place them on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the seeds with a few spoonfuls of salad oil -- just enough so the seeds are slightly oily when rubbed together.

Set in a 350 degree oven for 20-35 minutes, or until they're nutty brown, stirring a few times with a fork. When they are done, pour the seeds into a brown paper bag, add some salt, shake the bag, and let the seeds cool for a while.

SUPER SCARY SPIDER BREAD

Food Ingredients
4 - 1 pound loaves of your favorite frozen bread (thawed)
1 large egg (beaten)
Black sesame seeds or poppy seeds
Regular sesame seeds

Start with the legs by dividing one loaf of bread into 8 equal pieces. Roll out each of these pieces so that they are about 8 inches long. Place these legs on a baking sheet with four legs on one side, four legs on the other and leave a few inches empty in the middle to place the body and the head. Curve the legs back so that they look like spider legs.

For the head, add raisins to the second loaf and knead together. Divide the raison loaf in half, knead one of the halves and use a floured cutting board to form the bread into a ball. For the body, knead together the remaining half of bread with loaf #3 and form it into a ball also.

Place the head over the empty space between the first pair of legs. Press down on the ball until it extends over the legs and flattens to about 3 1/2 inches. Place the ball for the body over the last set of legs and do the same thing. The body should flatten to about 5 1/2 inches.

Next, divide the last loaf of bread into 8 equal pieces and shape them into smooth balls to make spider eggs. Place these eggs on the baking sheet.

Now the bread will need to rise a little. To do this, cover the baking sheet lightly with plastic wrap. Keep the bread in a warm place for 20 to 30 minutes.

Once it has risen, brush the bread with a beaten egg. Then sprinkle the black seeds on the body and the white seeds on the eggs and bake the Spider in a preheated oven at 350 degrees. The bread is ready when the crust is golden brown and when you can stick a toothpick into the bread and it comes out clean. The eggs will take 20 to 25 minutes and the body will take 40 to 45 minutes.

PRICKLY PUMPKIN BREAD

Food Ingredients
2 cups canned pumpkin
1 cup salad oil
4 eggs
2/3 cups water
3 cups sugar
2 cups coconut flakes
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons nutmeg
3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 loaf pans 5x9 inches

In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs. Add the wet ingrediants: the pumpkin, oil, eggs, water, sugar and 1 cup of the coconut. In another large bowl, sift the rest of the dry ingredients together so that the spices and baking soda get evenly spread into the flour. Make a "well" or hole in the middle of the sifted dry ingredients. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the well a little at a time as you mix it together. Mix the ingredients together before pouring in more dry stuff.

Now pour the mixture into the 2 greased loaf pans and sprinkle the rest of the coconut on top. Bake your Prickly Pumpkin Bread in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about one hour.

The Prickly coconut flakes on top will turn brown and dangerous. So, beware of that first bite.

1 quart of Mountain Dew or fruit flavored sparkling water
1 1/2 quarts of Blue Kool-Aid or 1 cup pureed blueberries added to 1 quart of water

If you want to be really gross, get a couple pairs of latex gloves, fill them with juice or water tinted with food coloring, tie the open end closed and freeze them. Once the hands are hard, peel the gloves off carefully and float the disembodied hands in the punch bowl.
